I am the daughter of an artist and a computer programmer. I think of my job as an attorney from an artistic perspective. The reality is much of our profession deals in the grey areas. Law is our guide, but the nuances and personalities of our clients also guide us. The tools of our profession are again laws, but also the court process and all the collateral support people like investigators, social workers, process servers, law enforcement, government workers, our client's family and education as well as friends and witnesses. The list is really endless.
I turned to the law to work on prison conditions and child abuse. The background in these areas helps me focus on my clients and their needs.
